It’s a brave new world.
Oh, to be five again! Sneakers tied and metal lunchbox in hand, we trotted off to school ready to learn. And on the agenda was a fun-filled day of play. We learned our letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. We even learned how to get along. (And Ronnie learned not to eat the glue!) Today’s five-year-olds still trot off to school ready to learn, but rather than spending the year learning how to do school (like we did), they spend the year learning how to read. This is why we developed Land of the Letter People—to teach the foundational skills children need to become strong readers, while stimulating their imaginations and creativity.
A standards-based, classroom-tested, comprehensive kindergarten curriculum, Land of the Letter People successfully immerses children in reading and writing across the content areas and prepares students for success with today’s more rigorous standards.
- Thematically organized
- Explicit instruction integrated across content areas
- Strong home-school connection
- Oral language and listening skills
- Phonological and phonemic awareness
- Word building and vocabulary development
- Writing and spelling
- Social and emotional development
And much, much more.
